Ulidia Yr12 BTEC Sports Studies Pupils show their Leadership

As part our Year 12 BTEC Sports Studies course we had to organise a sports event.

Our class agreed on an indoor football tournament for our Year 8 pupils (Boys and Girls).

Our aim was give the first year students a fun experience playing sport.

We had 58 participants in total who took part in the event

“The whole process was exciting and we got practical hands on experience of the vast amount of planning that’s required to run a successful event”.

All our events team had a role and various responsibilities before, during and after the event.

We even got to design and order up our own hoodies with our own initials and events team on the back. As well as running the football tournament we all gave money to the event treasurer and he distributed it to other events team members who were in charge of catering and buying prizes for the winners.  In our planning we had regular meetings and got first hand experience of recording minutes and learning of their importance.

The year 8’s thought we looked really professional.  This was identified from the feedback we got from our questionnaires after the event.

Below is a photograph of our events team and some group photos of the boys and girls teams who participated.
