24 Oct Years 8 and 9 Football Tournament
Year 8 and 9 pupils played three 5 aside matches at the Valley Leisure Centre yesterday. They were difficult matches against Glengormley High, Our Lady of Mercy and Richmond. They were very exciting matches – end to end games. Some of our girls had never played football but they played incredibly well. Clara Wilson 8CN scored a fabulous goal with her left foot even though she thinks she’s more right footed. Abbie Crawford also of 8CN was a fantastic keeper – quite natural at commanding her area. She was so alert and pulled off many excellent saves. Unfortunately by saving one certain goal she injured her wrist and had to retire.
In Year 9 there were many great players too – Laura Duffin 9WR stood out as she played any position and always tried her best. A great experience was had by all and Ulidia Integrated College girls certainly get football!
