21 Nov Carrickfergus RFC Year 8 Rugby Festival
On Friday 15th November, Ulidia Integrated College played hosts to a Carrickfergus RFC Year 8 rugby festival involving Downshire, Carrickfergus College and Ulidia.
The festival was a great success, giving many pupils their first experience of rugby. Despite the lack of experience, the standard of play on show by Ulidia was very commendable as great tackles and skilful tries were frequent. The Ulidia boys thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and showed very promising potential which stands them in good stead for future festivals and matches.
Any pupils who are interested in playing for Carrickfergus RFC outside school are very welcome, simply turn up to the club for youth training every Wednesday night at 7pm-8.30pm. We would also like to thank the rugby club coaches for their continued support within the school.
