Year 10 Students – BBC Radio Ulster Report

Year 10 Students – BBC Radio Ulster Report

On Thursday 27th March, Year 10 students from Ulidia Integrated College produced a report for BBC Radio Ulster as part of the BBC News School Report. The topic discussed was why adolescents find it difficult to talk and may self harm. The pupils offered solutions as to how we can help.

Journalist Paddy O’Flaherty visited the college earlier in the week to organise interviews and train the pupils to use the audio equipment. Year 10 students Chloe, Arianna, Konnor and Ryan worked really hard on tackling this difficult issue by interviewing parents, an adolescent, a psychiatrist and even our own Darina Connolly.

The reason that Ulidia had been chosen for the Radio Ulster Report was that they had been so motivated and excelled at their first report. The aim of both reports was to encourage adolescents to open up and talk about their issues.
