On Saturday 27th March 2016, the 21 Duke of Edinburgh candidates from Ulidia Integrated College came together for their training day. The pupils spent time learning how to cook hot chocolate on a trangia stove and were educated about safety whilst using the stove. Students learnt about pace and practiced finding their pace for a set distance.
Teambuilding was the most exhilarating part of the day with the teams setting time challenges for each other – Well done silvers for winning!
Thankfully the sun shone on the event which made the putting up of tents easier and more fun. All learners involved had fun and improved their skills for their expedition.
