Duke of Edinburgh: Gold Expedition

Duke of Edinburgh: Gold Expedition

Recently our Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award students completed their Dare to Dream expedition/campaign. They successfully navigated from Leitrim Lodge on Friday 24th June to the Windy Gap, for their first night through the wind and the rain. Next day they trekked from there to the Trassey Track, where again they set up their camp.

They sat there patiently (eating their noodles and rice) waiting to hear the N.Ireland v Wales Euros score. Although eventually disappointed they continued on their way with resilience and determination, the way the green and white army had dug deep to reach the last 16.

They reached Annalong Wood on the Sunday and again set up camp with picturesque scenery worthy of Games of Thrones filming. Finally they successfully finished at The Silent Valley and the examiner imparted the great news that they all had passed. Well done again to all the Ulidia Duke of Edinburgh participants this year.
