Midwife visit for Child Development

Midwife visit for Child Development

The Year 11 GCSE Child Development class were fortunate to have Mrs Collette Gilroy, a midwife at the Royal Victoria Hospital, visit their class to deliver a presentation on pregnancy and childbirth.

The students tested their own carbon monoxide levels, using the same test that pregnant mothers use. Everyone was reassured that their levels were fine! They also had the opportunity to ask questions to learn first-hand information about the role of a mid-wife. The job, although busy, sounded extremely rewarding.
