Ryan McNamara Scores His Second ‘Hole in One’

Ryan McNamara Scores His Second ‘Hole in One’

Congratulations to Year 13 student Ryan McNamara on his second ‘hole in one’. The chances of making a hole in one for a low handicapper are 5000 to 1 according to stats from www.hio-club.com.

Ryan has achieved two by the age of 17. This is his account …

On the 6th of October 2014, I was out practicing at my home golf course (Carrickfergus Golf Club). It was when I arrived up to the 7th hole par 3, 132 yards. I decided to take out my pitching wedge and fly it straight at the pin, once I hit my shot I knew that it would have been close.

There was a group ahead of me which I saw celebrating but I wasn’t sure why. I walked up towards the green to find my ball nowhere to be seen, this was when I quickly dashed over to check the hole and there was my ball. I was ecstatic and overwhelmed! I feel very grateful to have my 2nd ever hole in one by the age of 17 as I know many professionals go their whole career without having one.
