Ulidia Promotes Fair Trade

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers.

It’s about supporting the development of thriving farming and worker communities that have more control over their futures and protecting the environment in which they live and work.

And it’s your opportunity to connect with the people who grow the produce that we all depend on.

On Monday 15th December all KS3 (years 8, 9, 10) classes took part in a fair trade event. All classes took part in a quiz which was written by the eco team. Each form class answered questions about what fair trade is, what a fair trade premium is and why it is important that farmers get a fair price for their produce. Students then had to research fair trade products available in our local shops.

There was a prize of fair trade chocolate for the form class in each year group who scored the most points in that year group. Well done to 8MKE, 9CNV, 10WRY for winning the prizes.
