Ulidia Students Take Part In FIFA Schools Festival

Funded through the FIFA ‘Live Your Goals’ programme the event involved over 1000 girls playing within 110 teams from 55 post-primary schools. Schools travelled from all areas of Northern Ireland.

Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils were given football coaching sessions including shooting practice, skills, game tactics etc. There were female international footballers such as Caragh Milligan there to inspire the younger ones.

IFA Women’s Domestic Football Manager remarked;

“This was the biggest event ever for girls’ and women’s football in Northern Ireland and we are extremely grateful to everyone that made today possible. We obviously are indebted to FIFA for providing the funding for this programme, but we would also like to acknowledge the support of Belfast City Council in hosting the event.
