Women’s Aid Visit Sixth Form Students

On Friday 28th November sixth form students at Ulidia took part in a debate during a presentation by Brenda Leslie from Women’s Aid in Carrickfergus.

It is always a great pleasure to partner with Women’s Aid and the presentation certainly helped to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by those experiencing domestic violence.

The presentation took place during the White Ribbon Campaign which runs from November 25th to December 10th. Each year a white ribbon is worn to make public a personal commitment to zero tolerance for violence against women.  The campaign was started by a group of men in Canada in 1989 and has now grown into an international campaign in over 100 countries.
