Students Take Part In Mossgrove Youth Festival

Earlier this month, singers Matthew Johnston, Mollie Kempton and Aimee Neill took part in the Mossgrove Youth Festival.  Mossgrove is a unique music festival for young people aged between 5 and 25 who compete in singing and instrumental classes throughout the week. The competition was fierce, however, each pupil did fantastically well with Matthew and Aimee both coming second in their classes.  Both Ms McErlean and their singing teacher Miss Graham are very proud of their commitment and achievements.

“There were 32 people in my class and I was the only boy! The judge said my score of 92 was great as it was my first festival. He wrote, ‘there is obvious potential in this young singer’.  My performance was classed as exceptional and outstanding both technically and artistically.”

“There were 32 people in my class and I was no 28.  I was so nervous and was glad my mum was with me.  The judge said that I had potential for the future and I should continue my singing lessons.  I was awarded 85 marks and was very proud of myself.”
