Year 10/11 v Year 12 Rugby Match

Year 10/11 v Year 12 Rugby Match

The year 10 and 11 boys combined to make a team to play the year 12 pupils in a friendly Rugby match, in what could be the last fixture on our grass pitch before work commences on it for the new school.

Many of the boys participating in the year 11 side are completing the GCSE PE course and this match was being used to assess them in one of their three sports, as part of their practical assessment. The game was reduced to an 11 a side match due to a few absences with Covid and injuries.

The first half of the game was fairly even with both teams having their fair share of chances to score. However, the year 10-11 team won quite convincingly in the end with the boys who play regularly for Carrick Rugby club showing their superior tactical knowledge and experience at the breakdown.   Thanks to Mr McCleery for refereeing and Mr Parkes for videoing the game.
