Anti-Bullying Workshop

Anti-Bullying Workshop

On Tuesday 4th March Year 9 pupils took part in a workshop run by BEAM Creative Network in partnership with the PSNI. The focus of the day was to raise awareness of internet safety, cyber bullying and sexting and the dangers young people face while online. Pupils took part in a range of games and activities including drama in order to explore different situations they may find themselves in and of the possible consequences of their decisions.

Here is what some of the Year 9 pupils learned:

‘You don’t always know who you’re talking to online and you must keep all your accounts private.’

‘Once a photo is out there, it is always out there and you don’t own it anymore.’

‘I learned not to put personal photos online and to keep your account private online.’

‘Don’t put anything inappropriate online.’

‘When you say something online, you cannot take it back because maybe everyone has already seen it.’

‘Only add people you are actually friends with.’

‘You shouldn’t do anything online that you might regret later on in life or for the rest of your life.’
