During October 2017 the geography department participated in the world’s largest lesson. This is an event where pupils all over the world throughout all UN countries participate in the same lesson during the same time based on the global development goals. Learners in KS3 had the opportunity to participate in their geography lessons.

This year the geography department focussed on global development goal number two; zero hunger. Learners found out about the global development goals, and then explored global food resource distribution by using numeracy skills to graph resource distribution based on the data created by ‘if the world were a village’. Learners then were stretched to discuss global inequality and how their local actions could effect the issue in a positive way.

Well done to all who participated for their enthusiasm and excellent verbal contributions to discussions.
