Megan Kernohan, Carson Bursary Award Project

Megan Kernohan and Sophie Calder from year 13 successfully submitted an application to the Carson Bursary Fund in November, which awarded them both with a MacBook Pro to help with their studies!

They agreed to produce a project entitled ‘What Integration Means to Me’.  Megan produced a large painting and Sophie completed a collage of her photography work in Photoshop.

Megan began her project by creating designs and came up with the title “See Everyone Equally”.  This graphical art piece has been designed and created using equipment the Carson Bursary Fund awarded her.  Megan used various programs such Photoshop, Paint and Word in order to print images and designs for this piece.  Megan said “The concept of this art piece is that, if we see everyone equally we will fit together perfectly like a jigsaw puzzle. This imagery represents what integration means to me and I plan to promote my art piece as I think it has a strong message. I believe that integrated living is the way forward for Northern Ireland and everyone should look through the eye of equality.  “With justice we will be just!”
