On 20th June 2013 three representatives from the eco team travelled to Londonderry with Mrs Patterson to take part in the Airtricity global wind awards. The students were spoken to by Frank Mitchell who led the morning presentations, and then had the opportunity to ask questions to MLA representatives.
The team were delighted to be presented with the eco team of the year, third prize which was quite an achievement with over 700 schools in the running! Once the shock had worn off they were treated to a visit to Slieve Kruk Wind farm where they saw some huge turbines!
Then it was off home to Ulidia to share the exciting news with the rest of the Eco Team (after getting Frank Mitchell’s autograph!) – Well Done Ulidia Integrated College Eco Team!
