10 Oct Art and Design Department Visit The Ulster Museum
The Art and Design Department visited the Ulster Museum in Belfast on Friday 4th October.
Year 11, 13 and 14 art students spent the day recording with cameras and drawing from exhibits. Students enjoyed the day out developing their first hand drawing skills and improving work for their current projects.
Peer mentoring was useful for the Junior Students who were supported by our Senior artists encouraging their observational skills. Chloe Calder (Year 14) said “it was a great wee day, and I’d like go back on my own to develop my drawing skills independently”.
Hopefully bonds were made between Junior and Senior students who will guide each other in future projects. Year 11 students were fascinated by the drawing skills of Michelle Tsang (Year 13), who said “I loved drawing the wolves, and wouldn’t have had this opportunity otherwise!”
