10 Apr First ever Thai Festival comes to Belfast in 2014
Kate Allen and Nina Buchanan have formed a new organisation called Thai Belfast Festival and they are bringing Belfast’s first ever Thai festival to T13 (Titanic Quarter) on Sunday 27th April 2014. This event is a family day-out activity, for all ages, where visitors will experience the fascinating and entertaining diversity of the Thai culture and its people.
The Thai Belfast Festival offers all visitors a colourful and vibrant fusion of culture that will promote an understanding of Thai culture, reignite personal connections with the Far East and open visitors perceptions to the welcoming and inclusive culture that is Thai.
The organisers are working hard to deliver a memorable day for all the family and to set the Thai Belfast Festival as a regular and warmly anticipated annual event. Acts and contributors from across the UK will present traditional music, fashion, glamour and cuisine.
The visitors will have an experience of Authentic Thai culture, food, music, Thai dancing and Muay Thai boxing, along with a more relaxing Thai massage, a Thai beer garden, souvenirs, crafts and Thai beauty contest. There will also be raffles, face painting and more kid’s entertainment with live bands and local DJ.
There are several well established annual Thai Festivals in the UK and each year they prove to be more popular than the last. It is estimated that there are well over thirty thousand Thais living in the UK, which helps to ensure that the festival season is well supported.
