9ST showed off their culinary skills today when they prepared a 2 course lunch during French class. Each pupil made a ‘croque monsieur’ (French version of a ham and cheese toastie) served with salad and French dressing while dessert consisted of ‘tarte tatin’ (French version of apple tart) and ‘tarte aux myrtilles’ (blueberry tart).
The strong smell of the gruyère cheese put a few off initially but once cooked and tasted their reservations quickly disappeared! The desserts were also a big success with many pupils sampling a little of both!
The pupils worked well under pressure to produce such a wonderful lunch in under an hour. Great credit to them for their teamwork and pleasant natures which helped make this a truly enjoyable experience for all involved.
