01 Dec What Happens To Ulidia’s Waste?
Ulidia Integrated College is the only post primary school in Northern Ireland to achieve ‘zero waste’ status. This was achieved in 2013.
On Wednesday 26th November a small group of students including Darcy Burrows, Grace Carson, and Ryan McNamara travelled to ISL recycling plant in Mallusk to see what happens to our waste once it leaves the school.
They were given a tour by Joe McCrystal who is our school liaison with ISL. The students saw the waste being sorted and treated, as well as the machinery involved in the recycling process.
