07 Sep Refugee Crisis
I am sure that there are few of us who have not been moved by the awful images that have been all over the media in recent weeks and last week in particular. Thankfully there are now lots of organisations who are helping to arrange the shipment of aid to refugee camps before the end of September. As a college we would like to help contribute and to try to make a small difference.
Over the next week, we are going to try and gather as many toiletries as possible to create temporary toiletry bags. We as the rotary interact team are asking for staff and pupils to bring in at least one item to contribute to a bag. Obviously, the more that each one of us can contribute, the bigger the difference we can make. Ideally we hope that each form class can put together 2-3 bags.
Time is of the essence as we need to have everything in by Thurs 17th September – that gives us 10 days to collect as much as possible.
Please encourage your children to contribute and get behind this cause. This afternoon, rotary interact members and 6th Form students will visit classrooms to let pupils know and show examples of what the toiletry bags might look like.
Together we will be able to make a difference, no matter how small.
