20 Jan Former Pupil Returns To Give Advice and Information To Art Students
On the 11th of January, the A level Art students were visited by past pupil Jane Rainey. Jane is currently a student in Dublin completing a Masters Degree in Fine Art. On her visit to Ulidia she shared with our class her personal experience applying for courses and gave the Upper 6th artists advice on how to prepare for interviews and how to build a portfolio.
Jane then showed us a variety of her work, sketch books and shared with us ways in which she becomes inspired, one of which was through collage, which we tried as a class. This was a technique I personally found very useful for coming up with new ideas and one I will be using in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed Jane’s visit as it was both informative and fun! I look forward to seeing more of her work in future.
