05 Jan Translink Travel Challenge: Reward Trip!
During early 2015 Year 9 took part in the Translink Travel Challenge, with all Year 9 form classes taking part. The challenge aimed to increase sustainable travel within the year group. Over the course of the challenge students were encouraged to travel using sustainable methods to and from school.
As a year group Year 9 travelled 5044KM of sustainable travel during the challenge, which would be 8 times around Northern Ireland. 9CNV travelled the most sustainable distance of any class in Northern Ireland and won a day out from Translink, and also £150 for the school Eco Team.
On Thursday 17th December the form group travelled to The Ulster Museum for their day out and enjoyed a fun day of history and geography at the museum, as well as some tasty treats along the way! The class was accompanied by the travel and tourism sixth form classes who used the opportunity to conduct research for upcoming business plan presentations, and also for experience for unit 6 ‘preparing for employment’.
We would like to congratulate 10CNV for winning the national competition, well done!
