12 Feb Valentine’s Disco
As part of their assessment, Year 13 CoPE students organised the Valentine’s disco. Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils danced and laughed for two hours. There were old songs, new songs, old moves and definitely new moves on the dance floor! Whereas there is plenty of photographic evidence of pupils dancing, the supervising teachers somehow managed to escape Miss Guéret’s camera, although they were regularly spotted trying to get their routine right.
Two pupils won the best dancer competition and one very lucky girl won the raffle prize – a gallon of ice cream at Maud’s. Rumour has it Miss Hall was devastated not to win. She had big plans for that ice cream, which we hope involved sharing with her colleagues…
It was a great night, with a fantastic atmosphere that made us forget the freezing cold outside. Leaving the warmth of the disco and going home in negative temperatures came a bit as a shock.
Thank you to the CoPE students and the sixth form mentors who attended and made this a memorable night.
Happy Valentine’s, and have a lovely mid-term break everyone!
