07 Mar Internet Safety Workshop
On Friday 4th March, Year 11 pupils took part in a workshop run by The Pregnancy Resource called Connected.
The purpose of the workshop was to explore issues around social media such as sexting and cyber bullying and to raise awareness of the laws that exist to protect young people. Pupils had the chance to discuss the issues in smaller groups and to talk about how they could be personally affected by posting images and material online.
Some of the key messages received were:
‘We need to be aware of the risks involved when uploading images on the internet.’
‘Once you put an image on social media, there may be no going back from it!’
‘Report it to someone you trust if it happens to you.’
‘If you’re not sure about what you’re doing, then don’t do it!’
Thanks to Lynn and Ian from The Pregnancy Resource Centre for a very informative morning.
