At the end of the school day on Friday 23rd September the Eco Team conducted their annual environmental review of the school grounds. The group were very lucky with the weather which had not been kind earlier that day.
During the review the group measured the school environment using objective and subjective measures to review the entirety of the school grounds. The review consisted of 10 topics which included litter, waste, and water.
The review measured that our zero waste programme is still working efficiently within the school, and that the grey water system is helping us to reduce water wastage. The bins in the college are being used by the students and the waste is minimal. Our biodiversity work has borne much fruit – literally with blackberries, pears, and apples among the produce grown on the school grounds. The group are very excited to find evidence of badgers on site.
The global perspectives area is still our main focus and we have exciting plans for this academic year!
