11 Oct Global Learning Award
The Geography department has achieved level two Global Learning Awards from the Global Learning Programme, Northern Ireland.
These awards were presented to the department in recognition of their achievement in the field of Global Education. Within the department students have the opportunity to learn with a global perspective, and to explore how local actions have a global impact. This is demonstrated through such things as active participation in the world’s largest lesson and participation in active Fair Trade education. The Award also recognizes exploration of Global Learning themes through connected learning across the whole school curriculum, which enables pupil voice across a range of Global Learning areas. Ulidia Integrated College hosted a network meeting in September 2016, during which a group of teachers from across the Northern Ireland came together to discuss global learning and share both experiences and resources.
Mrs Patterson, the Geography Subject Leader, said that the department staff, Mrs Bonar, Mrs Wilson, and Mr Dunlop are all responsible for this award and that their commitment to global education enables learners to have the opportunity to receive quality global education at Ulidia Integrated College.
