25 Nov Duke of Edinburgh
Since after half term, Year 12 and sixth year students have been meeting Tuesdays after school to train for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh. They have been team building and learning new map reading skills already – much more to come… They are a very excited bunch and the next few months will test their stamina and resilience.
Outside of school life, they are completing a mixture of voluntary work and learning new skills, for example, leading the younger ones for Eco team, working for charities and coaching a plethora of sports.
Eventually they will participate in practice expeditions and also complete an actual expedition in the summer term. This will be a great test of character and skills. Eat your heart out Bear Grylls!
