On Monday we set off very early…4:15am! 28 excited Year 10’s arrived at the airport ready for 3 action packed days in London. Once the journey was over we arrived at the London Dungeons. Despite a few scary moments everyone enjoyed the fun and entertainment put on by the actors. The group watched the sunset as they viewed the city from the London Eye.
Before dinner the group spent some money and time at Covent Gardens.
Tuesday was another early start as we arrived at the Houses of Parliament for our behind the scenes tour. Afterwards we completed a workshop on how a Bill becomes a Law with a question and answer session with MP Sammy Wilson. The group visited Westminster Abbey and saw the graves of the Unknown Soldier, the tombs of Henry VII and Catherine of York and the grave of David Livingstone. Later that afternoon we visited the Leicester Square Christmas markets and paid a visit to the Odeon Cinema to see ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. Dinner was enjoyed by all at Planet Hollywood.
On Wednesday, 28 tired students boarded the London Bus Tour seeing where Sherlock Holmes lived and Buckingham Palace. Everyone enjoyed a visit to Hamleys – all 5 floors of it! After lunch the group boarded the bus for the airport and squeezed in a tiny bit more shopping in duty free. Arriving back in Belfast we were greeted by some rain and of course delighted parents. Great trip for all involved – memories made!
