The Ulidia Eco team recently took part in a fair trade event. The team explored fair trade and why it may be beneficial for farmers around the world. When we explored fair trade prices, the team were surprised to find that the fair trade products were not much more expensive than non-fair trade products.
The team were also surprised to find ‘fairly traded’ as well as ‘fair trade’ products in our local area. This may mislead consumers, as unless the product has a fair trade logo it is not fair trade, and producers may not be getting a fair deal.
The team then enjoyed sampling some fair trade produce!
