The Eco team at Ulidia Integrated College have been working closely with Lycee Pole Eco Team in Madagascar. The two eco teams have been working this February on an article in collaboration for the Young Reporters for the Environment project by Eco Schools.
The two schools have been exploring Fair trade produce in our communities. In Madagascar the learners have been exploring the production of commodities such as sugar and cocoa in their local community. In Carickfergus we have been exploring the fair trade consumption of these products and the disposal of the packaging that they are sold in.
During the week beginning the 6th February both schools worked on writing up their research for the article in their respective classrooms.
Together the two eco teams are producing a joint article to submit to the young reporters for the Environment programme. The article will be shared on both of our school websites when both parts have been joined together.
