14 Mar Madagascar School Report
The year 11 media studies class are taking part in a BBC School Report that focuses on a fundraising campaign being run by the year 10 form teachers and pupils.
The year 10’s are raising funds for a school linked to Ulidia in Madagascar, Fortdauphan. Throughout the past year they have been holding fund raisers to raise a total of £1500 for a desperately needed water pump for the school and the village.
The Year 10’s have been holding Bun sales, Word Searches and collecting coppers but they are also accepting donations from all students. They have currently raised £650 as of the end of half term.
The water pump will supply the school and surrounding village with a much needed source of clean water and make sure that the villagers don’t have to travel several miles to a river full of dirty water, animal faeces and human waste that they have no other option but to drink from.
