19 Jun Athletics NI visit Ulidia
Off the back of our recent success in the NEBSSA & District Athletic Championships with our year 8 pupils, we had a visit from one of the Athletics NI development Officers. During the session the 18 pupils were provided specialist advice on improving their sprinting technique. However, the main theme of the lesson was pupils attempting three fitness tests used by athletics coaches to identify talent in track and field events. The tests included the 20m sprint, medicine ball push and the standing broad jump. Pupils who record exceptional results will be invited to join the rising stars programme at Jordanstown.
