12 Oct Invisible Traffick
The GCSE and AS-Level RE class had a visit from Chloe Loughridge from ‘Invisible Traffick’. Chloe allowed us to interact with her as she explained the work of her charity in Northern Ireland and beyond. We were aghast at the statistics of human trafficking on our island; from the ‘forced labour’ on farms to the ‘domestic servitude’ in local homes. Our pupils engaged and acknowledged the signs to be aware of when looking out for the vulnerable in our communities. The information we heard and the stories told has armed us with valuable information to use in our examinations this academic year. We are now also aware of the shops who fairly trade and ethically pay to make our clothes…. New Look and Sainsburys were commended to us. Thanks to Invisible Traffick for the work they do and giving us their time.
