Our Year 13 Geography students have been out in the field this term carrying out sand dune fieldwork as part of their AS Geography studies.
Students investigated dune formation and succession by measuring beach profiles, recording sediment size and shape, and analysing vegetation changes from the foredunes to the more established dunes inland. They also considered the impact of human activity on these fragile environments.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and resilience in sometimes challenging weather conditions! Fieldwork not only strengthens their understanding of physical geography but also develops valuable data collection and analysis skills ahead of their exams. Well done, Year 13!
