28 Nov Year 8 Hockey Blitz
Well done to our fabulous Year 8 hockey team. On Friday we played an 8 aside blitz with Carrick Academy with almost 45 girls from both schools taking part- fabulous to see. Between our 2 teams, we managed some wins, draws and losses.
Yesterday they played Ballyclare Secondary and we went from 16 players down to 11 by the afternoon due to illness so we were playing with no reserves, all 11 girls played the full 4 quarters. We went down 2-0 in the first quarter but managed to hold the team off to a 0-0 scoreline for the next ¾’s. What a testament to the girls determination and ability to listen and follow feedback given at half time. We couldn’t have been more proud of them as they maintained their composure and remained calm throughout. Well done to this group of young ladies who worked so well as a team, playing together for the first time
