04 Apr Year 13 Crack the Code!
With the burst in ICT job opportunities, particularly in Northern Ireland – Year 13 Ulidia ICT students were given the opportunity of learning various coding languages today, including Java and C++.
The day started with pupils using plasticine to create their own functioning mouse to interact with a piece of software, before creating their own program from the ground up.
Head of ICT, Dominic Barnard said “We are giving Ulidia ICT pupils the building blocks to become self-sufficient outside of the classroom. Perhaps one of our students has the next million-pound mobile app idea – the skills learned today will go a long way to helping this idea come to fruition!”
The course was run by a local organisation called Sentinus and was funded by Bring IT On.
