01 Feb Language Skills in the World of Work
The Modern Languages department were delighted to welcome Michelle and Helen from NICILT – the Northern Ireland Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research, to speak to Year 10 on Thursday morning.
They provided us with a wealth of information on the growing importance of language skills in the world of work. This included a discussion on the transferable skills gained through language learning, with a focus on the current job market here in Northern Ireland. The session concluded with a quiz based on aspects of the language and culture of France and Spain. Congratulations to the winning team and all those who received spot prizes throughout the morning.
