Ulidia Integrated College Congratulates World Champion Irish Dancer

Newly appointed Deputy Head Prefect, Rachel Morrow was congratulated this week by the staff and pupils of Ulidia Integrated College as the new World Champion in the aged 18 category for Irish Dancing.

On Monday 6 May 2014, Rachel travelled to Kilkenny to take part in the World Championships for Irish Dancing.   She achieved first place!  Rachel, a pupil of Royal Tara Irish Dance Academy, has been dancing for 13 years, practising daily in the lead up to competitions and was up against competitors from Ireland, England and America.  She has also been known to display her talents in Ulidia Integrated College to a packed hall for school events, much to their delight and entertainment.

Mr Eugene Martin, Principal of Ulidia Integrated College stated, ‘Rachel is a fantastic role model to all the pupils of Ulidia, showing that commitment, hard work and determination really do pay off!’
